Y’s for Men A/W 2004 Military Jacket
by Yohji Yamamoto
Established in 1979 by legendary Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto, Y’s for Men represents the male counterpart of the Y’s brand. The line embodies a concept that aligns with the women’s Y’s collections. Drawing inspiration from Yamamoto’s personal interests and style, it resonates with the notion that Yohji Yamamoto himself would like to wear his own brand’s clothes. After the A/W 2009 collection, the line came to an end.
Composed of a beige cotton & black velvet lining, the style of this jacket and its runway counterpart (last image) is heavily inspired by 20th century military/army jackets: sitting above the waist, & featuring a waist adjustment belt that can be removed at the buckle and then tucked & hidden inside the jacket. Despite its military-inspired form, the jacket features J-cut sleeves which are unique to this model.
Condition is great other than a few small signs of wear/age here and there, and a replaced top button - all as pictured.
