Helmut Lang 1999 Painter Jeans
Produced in 1999
Debuting on Helmut Lang’s Spring / Summer 1998 runway, the ‘Painter Jeans’ reinterpreted heavily used painter’s denim as a luxury garment. Originally inspired by the Levi’s 501XX, the jeans are meticulously crafted and refined in their cut and materials. The Helmut Lang ‘Painter Jeans’ have long had a cult following, worn notably by Alexander McQueen in 1999, with a revival and surge in their popularity in recent years.
This iteration features a washed indigo denim with silver paint, and comes in an italian cut. The hem has been altered.
A highly sought after item, and rightfully so.
